Open Night/Dance on Monday/well done today - excellent

The few girls I asked to tidy up around the place on Monday afternoon - please make sure you do this and speak to Mr Scott to see if he needs anything else done - thanks

Dance teachers on Monday at 1020 - be prepared and be ready to go - I will not be there but Mr McHugh will be - do the same as last week and get them involved and dancing - thanks - make sure u know the next moves and add them in.

A massive well done to anyone who stood up there today on the stage and spoke about their business - some great ideas - you all came across really well - so well done to all - a special word of praise to those who won the prizes and are now through to the competition - a special well done to you - some excellent ideas! Good luck in the next stage - thanks to all the teachers and business people who gave up their time to be there

Open Night

Anyone who is involved in Open Night - please make sure that you go to your subject area that you are helping with - full school uniform - do not be walking around the school doing nothing - if u have not an arrangement with a teacher to help them - please do not just come in! You must know where u are going - thanks

Improve your fitness - 100km club sheets available from me - please take part and improve your fitness!!

Very very very important - please read!!!

I am looking for activities for TYs to take part in on the week of 11th or 18th April. There is a competition between the classes to see who comes up with the best idea. will be held on Monday week. Each class must collectively agree on an idea and 1 person in the class emails the idea to me, (1 idea per class only) I will then choose the best idea out of the 4 ideas (1 from each class). You must include cost of everything (bus,etc), dates and what is needed to participate. The trip can be overnight (one night max.) but cost must be taken into consideration. I will also be looking for a three person committee in each class to take responsibility as the people for me to contact. These committee names (3 from each class) must be emailed to me by Friday of this week. You have until Monday week (8th Feb) to email your idea to me. No email - then no idea from your class is taken into consideration. 

This is something different that I want to try so please everyone have your say and please take everyone's idea into consideration and please try and all be happy with the final idea put forward to me

Bank launch msg - please read - a trip at stake!!! get sorted!!

The Bank launch is on Wednesday. We will go around the classes today (Tuesday) announcing this to make sure everyone knows. We're planning to take TY's out of the class before lunch at 1225 so they can activate their accounts and secure a place on the trip to Dublin. Please also mention that they must bring in €5 to activate their account. Thank you very much.

Work experience -take note please

All TY students were reminded since mid-December to secure their 2nd work placement.

In the unlikely event of being unable to attend work experience the employer AND the school must be notified.  

This was explained on the blog since September.

The minority of pupils who haven't secured a new placement are obliged to do so by this week.

10% of end of year marks

Please note that you were all told at the start of the year there will be a number of marks going for things that you have contributed to the TY programme that you were not required to do - things that you got involved in yourself - it can be a range of things! The more the better - please keep this in mind when you are thinking of getting involved or not - the more you put in the more you will get back out - there is 10% of the marks going for this at the end of the year!! Please take note

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS REGARDING TRIPS

The message is in relation to all 4 classes going on trips - a school TY trip. Please take note that in future if a trip is organised for all TY's - you are expected to go on it. This is what you signed up for in TY. We can not supervise a few students who come into school. It is also up to you to organise lifts etc even if we are leaving early or are back late. Everyone (teachers included) have to organise various things so you have to do the same. No excuses. If you decide not to go on the trip then you stay at home and you will be marked absent. As mentioned before we are not in a position to supervise a few students. But please remember that full TY trips are organised for everyone and we expect you to go on all the trips and get a sample of all the trips. No picking and choosing.

As always if there is an issue with regard to money please come and speak to me and we will work out something. Please do not miss these trips due to a money issue.

Last Thursday - trip to Dublin

In relation to this trip the teachers involved all spoke to me and told me how great you all were in terms of manners, respect, time keeping - everything basically. They could not say enough good things about you all and that's really great to hear. A massive well done on that and as always keep this up. I hope that you enjoyed the trip.

Dear students,

If you intend to start your second placement on January 8th please be advised that the insurance policy document hasn't arrived yet to the school, but you are covered.

Could you explain this to your employer prior to Friday and I hope to issue the necessary administration to you next week.

If you haven't secured your placement please do so as it is hoped all TY will be at work on Friday, Jan. 15th

Dear Students, 

I have organised a trip to Young Scientist & Technology for TY students and one Fourth Year Maths class on Thursday 7th January 2016.  To date 24 people have paid. 

Anyone who wishes to go on this trip and has not yet paid, please bring in 10 euros and the reply slip on Wednesday morning. I will be in Room 006 before registration or the Meeting Room during registration.  This money must be paid by the end of registration on Wednesday morning.  

I will make a decision by Wednesday 6th January at 12 noon whether this trip will go ahead or not.
