Competition - please read - u can make a video - get involved!!!

Dear Principal,

We have been asked to forward this to all schools in relation to young peoples participation in the production of a one minute film or audio piece.

Regards

I'm in search of talented young people, and hoping you and 'Ireland 2016' can help.

I think our programme ties in nicely with your theme of 'Reimagining our future for coming generations'. I'm hoping there may be young people and projects in your area that can fit into our programme, or that we can reach out to talented kids to make something for us.

We at Big Mountain Productions, together with RTE's Two Tube and RTÉ 2fm, are inviting 11-17 year olds to create a one-minute film or audio piece, which documents what's important to young people today.

A selection of the projects we receive will be woven together into a half-hour documentary for RTÉ 2 which will be shown in May. We want to know what is important to school-goers today.

It might be the same themes originally documented in the proclamation or it might be something different. It could be justice, discrimination, equality, homelessness, climate change, sexism, bullying or any other issues in society that are important to young people.

The emphasis is on looking to the future, on young people's hopes and dreams, rather than looking back. And they can tell us any way they want - the more original and artistic the better!

Whether it’s a...
Drama
Singing
Dance
Reciting a poem
Musical performance
Animation
Or anything else, the more creative the better!

All the young people need to do is deliver their message to us as a one minute film or audio clip. Film it on a tablet, a smartphone or any other recording device. They can do it solo or collaborate with friends.

The closing date is 6th April but we can extend this if needs be, as we didn't realise a lot of people were off for two weeks, so just let us know.

Please find attached our press release and jpeg of our logo. We'd be delighted if you would share it on your own social media sites and with any mailing list you may have. We are trying to make sure children from all over Ireland get involved.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Many thanks,
Frank
